Table Thai Massage at the 2015 AMTA Convention

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending at the annual American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) Convention as a teaching assistant for Jill Burynski of Living Sabai. Jill has been a massage therapist for almost 15 years and has been teaching Thai massage since 2008. This year she was asked to return to the AMTA convention to teach a full-day class on Thai Massage for the Table. I’ve taken a several of Jill’s classes before as well as traveled with her to Thailand to further my studies, but one of the best ways to really learn something is to teach it.

I’ve been incorporating some Thai massage techniques into my table sessions for quite some time and will be offering traditional Thai massage sometime in the near future. In the meantime, assisting at the convention was a great refresher and opportunity to share Thai massage with other therapists.
